Privacy Policy

Hazri (the "App" and this website, hazri.net) records attendance for the employees of the organisation that uses it (the "Employer"). This policy explains what is collected, why, who sees it and how you can control it. It is written to follow India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Who is responsible? The Employer decides why and how its employees' data is used and is the data fiduciary for it. The Hazri developer runs the software and the servers for the Employer and acts as its data processor.

1. What we collect

DataWhy
Name, mobile number, employee type, shift, joining date, pay rate and bank details given by the EmployerTo identify you, mark attendance and prepare salary.
Login PINTo sign in. You choose your own PIN at first login.
A selfie taken when you check in, and a reference face photo registered for youTo confirm that the person marking attendance is you. The face photo is a biometric identifier — we ask for your consent before using it.
Location (GPS) at check-in and check-out; for drivers, the route while on dutyTo confirm you are at the workplace, and for drivers to record the distance travelled and stops. Location is collected only while you are on duty.
Date, time and place of each attendance, hours worked, leave, advancesTo calculate hours and salary and to keep payroll records.
Odometer photos and readings, diesel fill details (litres, amount, photo)For field staff and drivers: kilometres travelled and fuel use.
Phone model, battery level and a device identifierTo know the attendance came from your registered phone and to help support.

Some company-private builds of the Android app, distributed directly by an Employer and not through Google Play or the Apple App Store, can also record how long other apps and phone calls were used during duty hours, if the Employer switches this on. These features are not part of the Play Store / App Store versions.

2. How we use it

Only to run attendance and payroll for your Employer: showing it to you and to the people your Employer authorises (supervisor, HR, accounts), calculating pay, producing reports and keeping legal records. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Who else processes it

We share data with authorities only when the law requires it.

4. How long we keep it

For as long as the Employer needs it for payroll, audit and legal records. Selfies and odometer photos may be removed earlier. When an Employer stops using Hazri, its data is deleted on request, except what the law requires us to keep.

5. Your choices and rights

6. Security

Data travels over encrypted connections. Access is limited by role: a labourer sees only his own records; supervisors, HR and administrators see only what their Employer allows. Original attendance times are kept when an administrator edits an entry. No system is perfectly secure, and we will tell the Employer and affected people if a breach affects them.

7. Children

Hazri is for employees. It is not meant for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

8. Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date above and, for important changes, tell the Employer.
